VersaCold recognized as a top green supply chain partner in 2017 by Inbound Logistics

Posted by VersaCold on Jul 12, 2017 2:04:29 PM

VersaCold is proud to announce that we have been named one of Inbound Logistics’ 75 Green Supply Chain Partners (G75) this year.  The list profiles organizations that demonstrate an ongoing commitment to “sustainable supply chain, logistics and transportation practices.” Recognition such as this reinforces VersaCold’s commitment to providing sustainable solutions to our customers and being their trusted partner in building a more sustainable planet.

The G75 list is chosen by Inbound Logistics editors based on several categories such as a company’s corporate sustainability initiatives, public-private partnerships and collaborations on customer-driven projects. These categories are measured against four benchmarks of measurable green results, evidence of continuous improvement, sustainability innovations and industry recognition.

We look forward to continuing to lead by example while making progress toward our goals of protecting the environment and reducing our impact on resources.

How does BRC compliance affect the VersaCold customer?

Posted by VersaCold on May 10, 2017 3:51:49 PM

In the cold chain logistics world, being properly certified is important to both customers and the provider. Not having the right certifications can force customers to carry out costly second party audits with funds that could be better spent within their own company. That is why VersaCold goes above and beyond to provide certifications such as the BRC (British Retaill Consortium) Global Standards for Storage and Distribution, a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) recognized scheme. GFSI is a not-for-profit organization that benchmarks food safety standards around the globe and gives recognition to standards that meet certain agreed upon requirements.

BRC certification gives customers confidence that facilities are operating at a global standard that is concerned with both food safety and food quality. VersaCold is proud to have six of their facilities BRC certified and is projected to have all facilities certified by 2018, with twelve more facilities being added this year.

What exactly is a BRC certification and why does it matter to VersaCold customers? Read more to find out.

Find out why VersaCold is ranked 29th by Today’s Trucking top 100 list

Posted by VersaCold on Apr 21, 2017 2:10:17 PM

We are proud to announce that VersaCold has been ranked 29th by Today’s Trucking “Top 100 Canada’s biggest for-hire carriers” list.

Started in 1987, Today’s Trucking is the premier business magazine and information resource for the Canadian trucking industry. The top 100 list is the annual tally of the nation’s top for-hire fleets in Canada, and it offers a by-the-numbers look at which companies are improving capacity and which are contracting in the market. 2017 marks the first year that VersaCold has made the top 100 list, coming in with a total of 32 trucks, 675 tractors, 985 trailers and 810 0/0s. These numbers show a significant amount of growth over the years and are the result of several strategic initatives.

This jump into the top 100 list caps off a year of significant growth for VersaCold with the key acquisitions of CPX and Gary Heer, as well as the increase of LCV offerings. Click here to read more about the growth VersaCold has undertaken throughout the past year.
