Your Food Matters
VersaCold puts food first. With 65 years of experience and counting, this commitment is nothing new. We always strive to be the best partner possible as we join our customers on their mission to delivering safe, quality food to Canadians.
“Over the last couple of years, it has become a top priority to place that commitment to partnership and food right at the forefront,” says Mark Dienesch, Senior Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer at VersaCold. “It’s not so much a re-evaluation of what we stand for, but rather how we say it.” That’s why VersaCold is proud to announce our new tagline: Your Food Matters.
Although we’ve reinvented our tagline, our promise remains the same: we’re dedicated to ensuring the safety, quality, and freshness of the food families eat. What’s important to you is what’s important to us. And it lives at the heart of our network and our know-how.
Transportation: Integrity that goes the distance
Your Food Matters, no matter the distance. That’s why VersaCold has 700+ tractors and 850+ trailers with state-of-the-art technology and sensors to record temperature and transit information in real time. This allows for in-transit visibility and tracking so each customer is able to keep an eye on their food, whether it’s going across town or coming across the border.
Since our customers’ needs are always changing, transportation should support short distances as well as national and cross-border shipments. Our fleets offer multi-temperature trailers that accommodate a wide range of customers and their food.
All of these capabilities ladder back to our top priority of getting your food to its destination safely. That’s why our equipment and drivers adhere to the highest safety and regulatory standards with reverse logistics, direct-to-store delivery, and end-to-end management.
Your Food Matters. More specifically, all 450,000 shipments and 1.1 billion pounds per year, of your food matters.
Warehousing: Orchestrating with precision
With 32 distribution centres across Canada and a combined storage capacity of 118 million cubic feet, VersaCold has a lot of room for quality food. But in order to keep the storage and transportation process as transparent as possible, we go above and beyond to meet the global standards of food quality.
Each VersaCold facility is required to meet the HACCP requirements, with the majority of facilities offering on-site CFIA offices and inspection rooms. Most of our facilities are also BRC certified, with the remaining to be certified in the near future. Being BRC certified ensures our customers’ food always meets the highest global standard of quality, safety, and freshness. It’s a benchmark for suppliers and a symbol of quality and trust for customers.
We also offer a wide range of storage and distribution temperatures varying from -25°C to +5°C with precise sensors to monitor change. This ensures food is at its optimal temperature, even on the longest trips.
Integrated Logistics: Partnership with purpose
When developing strategic, customized logistics solutions throughout the cold supply chain, a committed partnership matters. VersaCold has a team of dedicated Supply Chain Solutions engineers who develop customized solutions to meet all kinds of unique needs. This includes inbound and outbound transportation solutions and warehousing services like order management, reverse logistics, packaging, and multi-temperature warehousing.
Our quality management initiatives produce measurable KPIs and reduce operating costs while focusing on continuous improvement in process. And our integrated 3PL and 4PL logistics maintain industry-leading supply chain solutions beyond the VersaCold network where needed. And with dedicated information technology and real-time inventory control, our customers can always keep track of their food and their shipments.
VersaCold is the sum of its hard-working parts with each partner dedicated to one thing: your food. Our tagline change is reflective of the cold chain industry, where change is constant. VersaCold is the partner that will continue to adapt alongside the shifting needs of our customers. With Your Food Matters at the forefront of everything we do, it can serve as a constant reminder of our commitment to you and your food.
